CAPA was established in 2011 with the mission to support the community through professional and ethical practices. 

We also offer support to Portuguese-speaking psychology professionals, aiding their development and registration process in Australia.

Profiles

David Chong

David, Clinical Psychologist MAPS, is the founder and Clinical Director of CAPA. With 34 years of experience in mental health and addiction, he has made significant contributions across multiple countries, including Hong Kong, Cambodia, Japan, and Laos.
David currently serves as a visiting professor at the University of Brasilia.
He provides supervision and guidance to psychologists and psychotherapists in diverse fields, such as forensic psychology, homelessness, youth services, mental health, addiction, and support for torture survivors.
In recognition of his impactful work in the Brazilian community, David was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in 2019.

Anna Cagnoni

Anna is a compassionate and collaborative Provisional Psychologist in Australia, building upon her qualifications as a Psychologist in Brazil since 2011.
Anna has particular interest in working with diverse group communities, addressing migratory grief and cultural shock, existential issues, anxiety, depression, complex trauma, grief & loss, and stress management. Being an immigrant herself, Anna holds empathy for the challenges of adapting to and finding belonging in a new culture. Approaches to therapy include: Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), Relational Psychoanalytic/Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Strengths-Based Approach.

Claudiana Arteiro

Claudiana is a compassionate psychotherapist and Mental Health Social Worker with extensive experience in helping individuals overcome challenges, find emotional well-being, and lead fulfilling lives.
Claudiana believes that seeking therapy is a courageous step towards a more authentic life.
Her areas of focus include: Anxiety and Depression, Stress Management, Migratory grief and cultural shock, Self-esteem and confidence issues, Grief and Loss, Parenting issues, and Pregnancy and transition to parenthood.
Her therapeutic approaches include: Psychotherapy, ISTDP (Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy), and Person-Centred/Strengths-Based Therapies.
